When ground lamb is used as an ingredient, spices and herbs are increased by 25% to 50% to enrich the flavor. Some add about 25% more volume of liquid.

In most recipes, ground beef is the primary meat ingredient, and the other types of ground meat are included to supplement and enhance the flavor of the meat loaf.
